Instructors 2022

Karin Vlug

Karin Vlug graduated in 2014 from ArtEZ as a fashion designer and completed the master Crossover Creativity at the HKU. She is a design researcher fascinated by new materials and the way products are made. Since 2014 she has initiated interdisciplinary research projects collaborating with partners like industrial designers, material developers, research institutes, and industrial partners.

Through design prototyping and researching, we develop new production methods for textile objects. This includes: 3D production around molds of textile objects with new biobased materials. With project UNSEAM, together with Bas Froon, we developed a textile shape-changing technology without sewing: using digital technologies and material properties. Aside from her studio activities she is a lecturer. visit www.karinvlug.com
