Poddy reimagines portable toilets by engineering the microbial ecosystem inside the tank rather than relying on harsh disinfectant chemicals. Instead of killing all bacteria and producing toxic, hard-to-treat waste, it introduces targeted microbial cultures that break down waste, reduce odor, and begin composting on-site. Designed for high-use environments like festivals and national parks, the system improves sanitation efficiency, reduces environmental impact, and transforms human waste into a safer, more usable compost stream instead of landfill material.

Aquavex is a biomimetic river filtration attachment designed to work alongside Savannah Riverkeeper’s existing litter boom network, capturing harmful micropollutants that traditional waste collection systems cannot remove. Inspired by filter-feeding organisms, kelp forests, and underwater plant life, the system uses chitosan-infused fibers, biochar filtration, and wax-treated hemp layers to target microplastics, heavy metals, E. coli, and chemical contaminants as water flows through the filtration media.
